Job Description

ABOUT THE JOB

The Additive Manufacturing (AM) Engineer is responsible for ensuring the proper production, as far as technical aspects, cost, quality, time and accuracy, through the implementation of continuous improvement. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: • Act as lead technical reference for customer and internal organization in the case of materials, coatings, and assembly application. • Read, analyze, and discuss customer required specifications managing all qualification kick-off meetings and put decisions into actions. Works to complete projects on time and within budget. • Knows elements of Methods-Time Measurement (MTM), analyzes, assigns controls, in agreement with production manager, times of each production step. • Develop processes based on customer requirements, focusing mainly to creating files and build programs, verify and interpret results in cooperation with the Technical Leader. Qualify new products/processes from kick-off to full release and continuously improve existing ones. • Supports production cost quotation and related feasibility studies. Project leadership to continually decrease manufacturing costs. • Project leadership of processes based on Customer requirements. Verify and interpret results in cooperation with Quality department. • Prepare required customer documentation to qualify new products/processes from kick-off to full release. Continuously improve product / processes and utilize proper change management practices. • Provides constant support to production from an engineering standpoint in order to prevent and solve any issues to parts during the process flow. • Work closely with the customer for the development of the process flow in order to optimize the coating and post processing of the parts to meet the customer's requirements saving time and cost. • Develop production costs quotation and related feasibility study. Project leadership to continually decrease manufacturing costs. • Determine and approve the process standards of a new component and provide customer products corresponding to the required quality specifications. • Develop, check, and improve component standards in order to promote actions for cost savings and process standard improvement. • Participate in Root Cause Corrective Action activities to permanently eliminate defects. • Adhere to the Company's Quality and Safety Management System and in accordance with its procedures and requirements. • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methods to improve Key Performance Indicators for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. • Keep abreast of key technical developments and innovations within the coating industry and encourage team members to do the same. • Coordinate, attend and lead team meetings

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field Strong knowledge of Solid Works and Minitab. Ability to learn new software specific to Additive Manufacturing Knowledge on statistical analysis methods as Six Sigma or Green Belt certification are desired. Must have excellent communication skills and experience interacting with all levels of customers, including technical managers. Experience with ERP systems, including creation and management of bill of materials is preferred. Preferred SAP experience Must be able to read, analyze and interpret blueprints and specifications. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project. Strong knowledge of both metric and US measurement systems. Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies Strong Project Management knowledge Ability to manage team performance and progress SKILLS: Must be able to read, analyze and interpret blueprints and specifications.
