Job Description

Amentum is seeking an Air Traffic Manager for Creech Airforce Base in Indian Springs, NV .

Purpose and Scope:

Responsible directly to the Amentum Deputy Operations Manager. Manages and supervises the day-to-day operations of Creech AFB Air Traffic Control Tower operations. Works directly with on and off base flying units and airfield personnel to ensure the safe and efficient flow of air traffic, and all contract performance requirements are met.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower facility operations. Manage and supervise ATC personnel to ensure the safe and efficient flying environment.

• Ensures the ATC facility meets all contractual requirements and obligations, and ensures all assigned controllers meet physical, certification, and proficiency requirements per Federal Aviation Administration (FAA and Air Force (AF regulations.

• Maintains and documents the required checklists listed in Department of the Air Force Manual (DAFMAN 13-204v3) for currency and accuracy of ATC operations.

• Implement approved ATC procedural changes in support of the wing flying mission and FAA requirements.

Perform other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Must have completed an accredited air traffic control school.

• Must have (15) years of ATC experience and (8) years’ experience in supervising and managing air traffic tower operations.

• Must have good oral and written communication skills.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a required Secret government security clearance.

• Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada Driver’s License, fully facility rated and maintain currency in all tower positions and possess a current Class II FAA flight physical.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Office environment with no unusual hazards; however, the building does have 7 flights of stairs; must be able to navigate minimum of 3 flights of stairs in case of elevator outage; constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness; must possess planning/organizing skills and be able to work under deadlines. Must be able to navigate typical computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe.
