PURPOSE & SUMMARY:
Littoral Services provides both professional and construction services in the marine environment. As a result, this position will require this employee to flex between our professional, construction, and coastal ecosystem restoration service teams. It is a core belief of leadership that in order to provide high level professional services, it is important to understand how things are built and how systems/structures interact with the natural environment over time. The smaller size of our company will also result in a significant amount of exposure and growth opportunity. One day you could be working on a job pursuit, the next day you may be in the field supporting our construction team, the next working at our Marblehead-based native wetland plant nursery, and the following day working on the development of design plans for a project. Silos and billable corporate ratios do not exist within our small, family-orientated company!
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare plans, designs, calculations and cost estimates.
2. Review and prepare technical specifications, engineering reports, regulatory applications and other technical documents.
3. Perform construction inspections and provide owner’s representation services on projects where Littoral is contracted to oversee work in the marine/maritime environments.
4. Ability to cross support field construction crews with maritime based construction and dredging operations on an as needed basis in an all-hands-on deck approach!
5. Prepare construction project deliverables including work plans, submittal packages, RFI’s, daily reports, and assist with project management activities.
6. Support the tracking of prospective work, preparation of proposals/estimates, and aid in the marketing of the company.
7. Conduct field work including site inspections, surveys, and construction observations/reporting.
8. Prepare and present technical content to clients and the public.
9. Prepare and submit regulatory permit applications.
10. Interact with clients and regulatory agencies.
CORE COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
· AutoCAD & Microsoft Office
· Strong GIS & Mapping Skills (Preferred)
· Familiarity with alternative contract delivery methods and trends including design-build, design/bid/build, CMAR, etc.
· Self-motivated/starting, strong organizational, problem solving & time management skills with the ability to work remote
· Survey and project location control fundamentals
· Previous Maritime/Ports/Dredging/Ecosystem Restoration experience is preferred
· Strong leadership, written, & communication skills
· Ability to communicate and discuss technical content and topics with technical and nontechnical clients and the public.
· A willingness to accept new challenges & carry a highly diversified workload
· A willingness to support the growth of small company & institute standard business operating procedures
· Bachelor’s degree from ABET accredited school in coastal, ocean, civil, structural, or geotechnical engineering, other majors will be considered paired with relevant experience. E.I.T certification preferred.
· 2-5+ years of relevant professional experience
· Understanding of federal & regulatory requirements of advancing work in coastal environment in Ohio.
· U.S. citizenship or current ability to work in the U.S.

· While the position is Full Time , Littoral will consider part-time or 30 hours per week or less for highly qualified applicants looking for greater work life balance opportunities.
· Work from home or remote with travel as required to meet the needs of field projects and travel to the office currently located in Marblehead as needed for meetings, training, and special events.
· Vacation/Sick Time/Weekly Billable Hours will not be tracked unless required by contract with a specific client. Leave/vacation time shall be coordinated with your supervisor. Employee will be responsible for the self-management of their workload and coordination of their workload with their supervisor.
· Annual bonus and profit sharing program based upon the performance of the company and employee’s performance.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year (Depending On Experience)
