Job Description

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for the overall management of the dining room, inventory, preventative maintenance, and forecasting needs for revenue, supplies and repairs.

• Support the General Manager/owners in all aspects of daily restaurant operations
• Monitor financial performance, including labor costs and revenue targets
• Uphold company standards for hospitality, service, and overall guest experience
• Strong understanding of forecasting and reservation planning
• Collaborate with back of house management for seamless operations
• Managing all hourly positions in the front of the house including training
• Maintain a strong floor presence with staff, guests and long time regulars 
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
• Inventory control, ordering, and long time vendor relations
• Oversee staff scheduling, hiring, and performance with support of General Manager/owners
• Manage weekly employee schedule
• Toast POS and SLING scheduling app by Toast experience a plus
• Maintaining standards and steps of service
• Ensure side work duties are being completed by FOH staff
• Assist FOH with opening and closing duties, giving direction during shift, and hosting
• Encourage and mentor FOH staff with wine knowledge and upselling
• Represent the company professionally through your personal appearance, communication, and respect for others
• Demonstrate a good attitude by working collaboratively with colleagues to identify positive solutions to problems or issues
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask, problem solve, and work efficiently under pressure
