Job Description

Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton is seeking an Assistant Pastry Chef . We are considering candidates with at least 2 years of prior experience working within an upscale restaurant, hotel or resort environment.

SUMMARY
Assists Pastry Chef with the supervision of and coordination of pastry cooks engaged in preparation of desserts, pastries, confections, and ice cream by performing the following duties.​

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Assists with planning of pastry production according to menus and event orders.
• Participate in preparation of all desserts and pastries.
• Sets up dessert buffets and stations.
• Recommend and create new recipes and pastry procedures to meet and exceed the membership’s expectations for variety, quality and creativity.
• Recommend and create new items that meet current dietary trends such as gluten free, sugar free, dairy free, etc.
• Monitors overtime and ensures that overtime is only used when necessary with the approval of the Pastry Chef.
• Maintains highest level of sanitation standards at all times. Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations.
• Ensures that all work areas are safe and secure; reports any unsafe conditions to Pastry Chef.
• Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all kitchen areas.
• Maintains security practices for all food and equipment supply inventories.
• Assists in food procurement, delivery and storage.
• Maintains a high standard of organization, cleanliness, FIFO, labeling, temperature control, walk-in coolers.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Two(2+) years pastry exp. within a quality kitchen or equivalent of related experience & education 
• Previous experience in a high volume quality kitchen
• Team Player, self motivator
• Excellent communication and organization skills
