General Summary:

As a Family Dollar Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers and assisting the Store Manager in daily store operations. This includes maintaining inventories, store appearance, and completing daily paperwork.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Greets and assists customers positively, resolving inquiries and concerns.


2. Maintains a clean, well-stocked store and provides excellent customer service.


3. Supervises, trains, and develops Store Associates under the Store Manager's guidance.


4. Assists in unloading merchandise, organizing stock, and transferring merchandise from stockroom to store.


5. Supports ordering merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.


6. Supports loss prevention efforts.


7. Assumes management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.


8. Follows all company policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; ability to interpret operational directives.


• Experience: Prefer management experience in retail, grocery, or drug stores.


• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, sometimes up to 55 lbs, and perform physical activities like walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.


• Availability: Flexible full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.


• Skills & Competencies: Customer focus, developing potential, results-driven, organizational and communication skills, problem-solving, and relationship management.
