Job Overview:
The Breakfast/Lunch Line Cook at Palm House will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality breakfast and lunch dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This position requires attention to detail, a passion for food, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety standards, and be committed to maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch items according to Palm House's menu and recipes.
• Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Assist in food prep, including chopping, dicing, and assembling ingredients, as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels for ingredients and assist in ordering supplies to ensure availability for daily service.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, stoves, and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Follow proper portion control and presentation standards for all dishes.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations during service.
• Ensure all food safety practices are followed, including safe food handling, storage, and sanitation.
• Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, and equipment during and after service.
• Assist with special requests or dietary needs for customers when necessary.
• Communicate effectively with the front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate food orders.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a line cook, preferably in a breakfast/lunch-focused environment.
• Knowledge of breakfast and lunch cooking techniques, including grilling, sautéing, and frying.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a hot kitchen environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or formal training is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and focus.
