Position: Credentialing Specialist

Location: New York, NY 10004

Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $30/hour (W2)

Job Summary

The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of provider credentialing and re-credentialing, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, hospital bylaws, and regulatory requirements. This role oversees license renewals, primary source verification, and records management while maintaining data integrity in credentialing systems. The specialist utilizes MDStaff credentialing software to track and monitor credentials and ensure accurate provider documentation.

Key Responsibilities Credentialing & Compliance
  • Oversee the entire credentialing and re-credentialing process for medical staff, allied health professionals, and other providers.
  • Ensure timely renewal of physician licenses before expiration.
  • Conduct primary source verification for new and existing providers to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain and update physician files, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all credentials.
  • Ensure consistency in database entry for standardized credentialing processes.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to provider credentialing.
  • Conduct credential audits to verify compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
Database & Records Management
  • Utilize MDStaff software for credentialing, including tracking status, alerts, and scanned documentation.
  • Manage credentialing records and ensure data accuracy.
Support & Team Collaboration
  • Provide credentialing support for other team members as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (required).
  • Experience: Prior experience in the healthcare field (required).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MDStaff credentialing software or similar systems.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain data accuracy.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with credentialing standards, regulatory agencies, and accreditation processes.
Work Environment
  • This is an on-site position with no remote work option.
