The Rural Health Enterprise (RHE) is an entity of The Rural Collaborative, owned collectively by 24 rural hospitals across Washington State. We are dedicated to enhancing the sustainability and quality of rural healthcare. RHE provides crucial support through interdependence and value-based services. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced CVO Credentialing Specialist to join our team. This position is considered "casual" (no guarantee of hours) and work hours may vary from week to week, up to 20 hours per week, depending on volume, staffing, etc.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The CVO Credentialing Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day CVO file processing for the Enterprise Credentialing Program. Work includes responsibility for coordinating and performing all credentialing aspects of the Program with timely submission to Hospitals. Assignments are planned and executed with considerable independence in conformance with established policies, regulations, and laws. Work is reviewed by the Credentialing Manager through reports, regular one on one check ins and adherence to Enterprise guidelines and policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Actively supports the Enterprises culture [Respect, Trust, Joy and Ownership] through thought and deed.
Represents the Enterprise in a positive and professional manner.
Processing and execution of the CVO Program to ensure continued delegation by rural hospitals.
Understand and follow the Joint Commission guidelines and familiarity with DNV accreditation, applying the guidelines as needed according to the rural hospitals Bylaws, policies and procedures .
Maintain systems to identify credentialed providers and prepare and maintain records as required.
Complete credentialing verifications and file documentation for credentialing providers as required under the hospital Agreements.
Interface, coordinate and meet with participating hospitals to ensure time receipt and accuracy of required credentialing including but not limited to the Washington Practitioner Application (WPA).
Prepare provider credentialing application files and prepare documentation for hospitals.
Monitor and revise credentialing forms as needed.
Ensure maintenance of credentialed provider files and ensure information is protected as needed.
Communicate credentialing information to appropriate departments or personnel.
Communicate recommendations for utilization of space, equipment and other resources as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 3 years experience in hospital CVO or Medical Staff Office credentialing required
CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) certification strongly preferred
Experience using MD Staff software also preferred
Strong understanding of credentialing standards, regulations, and best practices.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with particular emphasis on credentialing databases.
High proficiency in use of internet and search engines for research and information gathering.
Willing to be flexible and to modify work schedule, as needed within reason.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote work environment.
Must perform work from the state of Washington
Ability to travel for in-person meetings on occasion (less than 5%)
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Most of the work is performed in a remote home-office setting. Some travel in local area to attend meetings and occasional overnight stay may be required. May require occasional evening hours. May require standing or sitting for long periods of time. Position requires hand manipulative skills for word processing and writing. Must be able to hear verbal conversations over the phone and in-person with background noise. Must be able to consistently identify objects and persons at a distance and read fine print on various forms.
