About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Orientation and Transition Programs to lead the development and implementation of a dynamic, student-centered orientation program for new undergraduate students and their families. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the New Maverick Orientation, which serves a large and diverse incoming student population and will also explore graduate orientation programs. This role involves direct supervision of professional and administrative staff, creating a strategic vision to support student transition and retention, and managing a significant departmental budget. The Executive Director will work closely with various academic and student affairs units to ensure a seamless transition to the university and will be expected to have a strong background in student affairs, with a focus on orientation and first-year experience. Applicants for the Executive Director position must have a Master's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in student affairs, with a specific emphasis on orientation and first-year programs. The role requires excellent program planning and implementation skills, a demonstrated understanding of the academic environment, and the ability to manage a large and diverse team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in supervision, strategic planning, and budget management, as well as the ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals from various backgrounds. Experience with programs and services for special student populations, such as first-generation and former transfer students, is highly valued. The Executive Director will be expected to serve on university committees and contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
