DAY TO DAY: Our client is looking for experienced Security Officers to join their growing team! The Security Officer II role involves carrying out security tasks with professionalism and positivity, interacting with the public, patients, employees, and administrators. This role responds to various types of calls, offering help in both emergency and non-emergency situations. The officer investigates and records safety hazards, incidents, and criminal activities, both electronically and in writing. They patrol specified areas to ensure the safety of the public, patients, employees, and property. They are held accountable by the department's hierarchy for their initiative, judgment, and overall competence in performing tasks, responding to service calls, and carrying out everyday duties. They actively contribute to exceptional customer service and take responsibility for maintaining respectful relationships with everyone. The position necessitates successful completion and clearance from physiological and physical fitness screenings.
As a proactive security officer, you are assigned to specific areas where you perform critical tasks to maintain safety standards. Your duties include: 1. Patrolling and Vigilance: * Regularly patrolling designated areas to ensure a visible security presence. * Performing security-related tasks, such as checking doors and monitoring activity. * Investigating any suspicious activity or individuals. 2. Reporting and Communication: * Reporting hazards, unusual circumstances, or suspicious incidents to the Security Operations Center. * Keeping your supervisor informed about any noteworthy activities or events. * Responding promptly to varying levels of vulnerability, including life-threatening situations and natural disasters. 3. Emergency Response: * Acknowledging and appropriately handling emergency, non-emergency, and alarm calls. * Safely assessing alarm causes and providing assistance or direction as needed. * Administering initial first aid based on your training level. 4. Fire Safety and Prevention: * Responding to fire alarms during drills and actual incidents. * Conducting helicopter fire prevention assessments and responding to helicopter fires. * Maintaining effective communication with supervisors and fellow officers. 5. Conflict Resolution and Physical Management: * De-escalating disputes between individuals using verbal techniques. * Physically managing combative or violent persons when necessary (following annual aggression management training). 6. Enforcement and Assistance: * Enforcing hospital rules and regulations within your assigned area. * Assisting visitors with directions and information. * Safely escorting people or property to desired destinations. 7. Investigation and Documentation: * Interviewing and investigating individuals involved in suspicious or illegal activities. * Documenting safety hazards, incidents, and criminal activities. * Reporting findings to Security Administration and law enforcement. 8. Additional Duties: * Participating in approved activities beyond security operations (e.g., morgue transport, fire extinguisher checks). * Detaining unauthorized individuals as defined by policy or state law. Conducting annual security assessments for individual hospital properties.
