Ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to student success, working in a multicultural environment, dedication to the community college mission, and highly effective oral and written communication skills. Duties include teaching lecture and laboratory sections of first- and second-year biotechnology courses. Additional faculty responsibilities include curriculum development and assessment, student advising, utilizing the latest instructional technology and laboratory equipment, committee work, outreach, and service to the department, campus, and college. The opportunity to supervise undergraduate research or honors projects exist. This position is part of a collective bargaining unit.
The Chemical and Biological Sciences Unit offers Associate's degrees in Biological Science, Bioinformatics, Environmental Science & Policy, and Chemistry and Biochemistry, with the Biotechnology discipline providing education leading to an Associates of Applied Science in Biotechnology and three certificates: Biotechnology, Biomanufacturing, and Cell and Gene Therapy Technology. Teaching assignments may include various delivery modes, such as face-to-face, online, and blended formats during days and evenings. While Biotechnology labs are currently only at the Germantown campus, Montgomery College has three campuses, the new East County Education Center (ECEC) and instructs courses at area high schools. Faculty may be assigned to any campus, teaching online or HyFlex. Training for online and HyFlex teaching is provided.

Salary Range: $62,319 - $94,876 , annually.
