Description Recruits freshmen and transfer students from foreign high schools and local language schools. Makes presentations to student groups. Counsels students and parents regarding the admission process. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 2-3 years' related experiences.
Pivotal role in facilitating the enrollment process for international students, providing guidance and support from initial inquiry to enrollment. Responsible for evaluating international academic credentials, advising on admissions requirements, and assisting with visa and immigration processes, ensures a seamless transition for prospective international students. Additionally, serves as a liaison between the institution and prospective students, representing the college at recruitment events and fostering relationships with international educational partners. Strong communication, cross-cultural competence and a commitment to student success are essential for success in this role.
Travel; requires a current Driver's Licenses.
Qualifications Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in Education, International Relations, or a closely related field. Previous experience in admissions, international education, or student services preferred.
Major Responsibilities/Duties 1. Admissions Recruiting:
-Review and evaluate international student applications to ensure all required documents are submitted and admissions requirements are met
-Verify information in the CRM, maintain web-based applications and transcripts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of international students applications and admission decisions.2. Application support and Advising:
- Advise prospective international students on admissions requirements, application procedures, academic programs and other relevant information
-Provide guidance on visa requirements, documentation, deadlines and assist with SEVIS-related procedures.3. Outreach and Recruitment:
- Represent the institution at recruitment events, college fairs and informational sessions both domestically and international to attract and engage prospective international students
-Participate in virtual recruitment opportunities such as informational webinars, workshops, and recruitment events.
- Assist in the development and implementation of an annual recruitment plan.
- Manage the CGE social media accounts and web presence, creating strategies to attract and engage prospective and existing students.4. Collaboration with Stakeholders:
-Develop and maintain relationships with international agents, schools, and organizations.
-Identify, recruit and maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as student recruitment agencies, high school and language school in target markets.
-Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional materials targeting international audiences.5. Market Research and Analysis:
-Conduct market research and analysis to identify target markets for international student recruitment.
-Prepare reports and analyze trends related to international student admissions, focusing on community colleges in the US.
-Monitor global academic trends and forecast potential new areas of growth using data provided by the U.S. government and other strategic partners.6. Training and Development:
- Recruit, train and manage Unibuddy ambassadors
- Conduct training and updates with identified partners and agents overseas
Knowledge: International Education Systems: Understanding of international education systems, including grading systems, academic credentials and education structures, to effectively evaluate international student applications.
Admissions Policies and Processes :
Understanding of the admissions cycle, including application requirements and evaluation processes for international students, enabling accurate advising and assistance throughout the admissions process.
U.S. Immigration Regulations :
Familiarity with visa processes (F-1, J-1) and regulations affecting international students.
Cultural Competence :
Awareness of diverse cultural backgrounds and practices, as well as challenges faced by international students.
Community College Programs :
Knowledge of academic offerings, support services, and resources available to students at a college.
Skills: Cross-Cultural Communication: Strong cross-cultural communication skills to effectively engage with prospective international students from diverse backgrounds, understanding their needs and providing culturally sensitive guidance and support.
Interpersonal Communication :
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with prospective students, families, and external partners.
Presentation Skills :
Proficient in delivering presentations and workshops to groups, including virtual formats.
Organizational Skills :
Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
Data Analysis :
Skills in analyzing admissions data to identify trends and improve recruitment strategies.
