Hyundai Motor Group North American Quality Center. (NAQC) is currently looking for a New Model Validation Manager at our Chino, CA facility who will:

On aday-to-day basis, the NAQC New Model Validation Manager will:

• Collaborate with affiliates (HMNA, KUS, HAC, KCA, HATCI, HMC, HMMA, KaGA, KMX, and suppliers)
• Build a team and maintain the morale of team members
• Assist, review, and coach team members in putting out high-quality work product (reports)
• Mentor engineers on best practices and facilitate learning on the job
• Support and contribute to setting and achieving division KPIs
• Represent team at affiliate governance meeting representing NAQC
• Attend and participate in affiliate and HKMC Quality meetings representing NAQC
• Maintain relationships with affiliates and suppliers
• Investigate and identify root cause and condition by translating subjective customer complaints with repeatable objective data & validate countermeasure effectiveness
• Provide support in collaboration with other groups/affiliates of test plans for the various quality tests done for new models including Ride & Handling, NVH, Flat Spot Testing, and Hot and Cold Weather tests
• Perform engineering analysis and research results for 'lessons learned' on current and future models
• Benchmark competitive vehicles to research differences and improve HMG vehicle systems
• Conduct vehicle audits for Hyundai & Kia models during developmental stages and after vehicle launch
• Support North America Local Region Infotainment audits to identify issues prior to SOP
• Manage and report on durability programs and implement improvements to enhance results
• Manage IQS/VDS/CR relationships with JD Power and CRDI
• Obtain contracts and maintain a schedule for JD Power and CRDI early evaluation events such as EPR, CPE, IPE, and early review FSA's
• Communicate/support affiliates and internal IT Quality Information to secure information on logging issues with new models issues
• Day-to-day scheduling activities with technicians to prioritize and ensure completion of tasks
• Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control principles and practices

Candidates considered will...

• Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
• Have 7-10 years experience in automotive engineering, preferably Chassis/PT/EL experience strongly desired
• 2-5 years managing a team
• OTA update experience desired
• Travel up to 40% of the time, both domestically and internationally.

• Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control principles and practices
• Project management experience preferred
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record

• Compensation:
• Base Salary: $130k~$160k
