Pastry Sous Chef – Unconventional Diner

Location: Shaw, Washington, D.C.
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years.
Compensation range: 65K-75K.

We are looking for an experienced  Pastry Sous Chef to join our dynamic team and contribute to our award-winning dessert program.

  Pastry Preparation

• Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, pies, cookies, and other baked goods under the guidance of our Corporate Pastry Chef.
• Ensure every dessert meets our high standards of quality, flavor, and presentation.

  Ingredient & Inventory Management

• Handle and store ingredients properly to maintain freshness and sanitation.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the Corporate Pastry Chef to ensure timely ordering of supplies.

  Quality Control

• Conduct regular quality checks to maintain consistency in taste, texture, and appearance.
• Adjust recipes or methods as needed under the direction of the Corporate Pastry Chef.

  Health & Safety Compliance

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Ensure proper food handling and storage to prevent contamination.

  Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with the pastry team to execute dessert menus and specials.
• Communicate effectively with the Corporate Pastry Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Minimum 3 years of pastry experience in a professional kitchen.
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen best practices.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
