Position Summary

Goldenrod is a dynamic and growing commercial real estate company specializing in delivering high-quality, complex commercial projects. We are seeking an experienced and strategic Risk Manager to join our team. The Risk Manager will be a key leader in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the organization, helping to safeguard the company's assets and ensure the successful execution of projects. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in risk management, insurance programs, compliance, financial management, and data analytics, and will play a vital role in shaping the company’s risk management strategy.

*Please note, this position will require some light travel between our offices in Omaha, Dallas and Atlanta as part of the role and depending on base location.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Leadership

• Develop and implement risk management strategies aligned with company goals and risk appetite.
• Lead and mentor the risk management team, collaborating with other departments.
• Report to senior executives and board members on risk matters.

Risk Assessment and Analysis

• Identify, assess, and prioritize risks across operations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to evaluate control effectiveness.
• Analyze trends in claims, losses, and exposures to identify emerging risks.

Program Management

• Oversee insurance programs, including policy terms, coverage limits, and retentions.
• Negotiate with reinsurance providers and manage relationships.
• Implement risk transfer strategies and oversee claims management processes.

Policy and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Develop and maintain risk management policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with legal counsel on coverage and regulatory matters.

Financial Management

• Manage the risk management department budget and analyze the cost of risk.
• Evaluate insurance program performance and ROI.
• Oversee actuarial analysis and reserve setting.

Data and Reporting

• Maintain risk management information systems and create regular reports on risk metrics.
• Present findings and recommendations to leadership.
• Monitor key risk indicators and establish early warning systems.

Condo Sales

• Manage external communication and messaging as it relates to a potential condominium buyer list
• Engage in active discussion regarding status updates, timelines, and options available
• Track recent transactions to understand state of the condominium sales market in ATL
• Execute the team’s brand by demonstrating consistent excellence throughout project life cycle

Qualifications

• This role must be based in Omaha, Atlanta, or Dallas.
• Proven experience in risk management, insurance, and financial analysis within a commercial real estate or similar industry.
• Strong leadership abilities with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
• In-depth knowledge of risk management principles, risk assessment techniques, and insurance programs.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to report to senior executives and board members.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to develop and interpret risk models and trends.
• Expertise in regulatory compliance and risk management policies and procedures.
• Experience in managing budgets, cost-reduction strategies, and evaluating ROI on risk management programs.
