Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Detroit, MI
Reports To: Controller
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

AceTex Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for managing and overseeing daily accounting operations and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Oversee general accounting functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Reconciling company bank accounts.
• Reconciling and analyzing accounts all other balance sheet accounts.
• Filing various state sales tax returns.
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data to provide financial insights and recommendations.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for audits.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to support financial planning.
• Develop and improve internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures.
• Support special projects and process improvements within the finance department.

Qualifications & Requirements:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting setting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
