Responsibilities:

• Provide instructional services to children with disabilities according to their Individual Education Program (IEP).
• Develop objectives and timelines appropriate to the student’s needs as indicated in their IEP.
• Plan and implement engaging instruction aligned with the curriculum, but modified to meet the needs and abilities of each student.
• Provide instructional support within a co-teaching, push-in, resource, and/or self-contained setting.
• Address communication, behavior, and sensory needs of students.
• Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with parents, staff, and administrators.
• Collaborate with other classroom teachers and related service providers in the development and implementation of best practices.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a LBS1 unlimited endorsement.
• Foundational knowledge of distance learning structures and Google Suite applications.
• Experience working with non-verbal autistic students preferred.
• Familiarity with EASYIEP and ability to work with the Special Education Coordinator to facilitate IEP meetings.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
