Job Description
The Senior Director, Supply Chain Planning leads the execution of and drives the effectiveness of the S&OP Process, Demand Planning and Supply Planning and serves as the Operations lead on the company’s Cross Functional Team planning group. This person will be responsible for partnering with Sales to align on a resource plan that responds to current and expanding products and markets and develops supply chain planning and execution models to determine and validate business strategies. In addition, they will develop holistic strategy recommendations to ensure that the company has the appropriate resources (tools and team) and operating plans to support current forecasted business and projected growth. The Senior Director, Supply Chain Planning works in collaboration with senior functional managers and key stakeholders in sales, marketing, logistics, manufacturing and finance, and with their peers in HQ.
All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:
S&OP AND DEMAND PLANNING
Own and continually enhance the overall execution of the local S&OP process in North America to support short and mid-term business planning and the integration of those plans into the company’s global S&OP process. Develop/re-define local S&OP process as appropriate and influence/participate in global S&OP initiatives and processes including gaining senior team buy-in. Drive process to gain S&OP alignment with senior stakeholders in other functional departments, explaining issues, challenges, and opportunities to senior team. Drive continuous process improvements in Supply Chain Forecasting by implementing process changes, creating new tools, and adding resources. Provide forecast proposals to key stakeholders that consist of clear insights and recommendations. This includes explaining key assumptions and trends to the forecast and identifying risks and opportunities to the operating plan and financial framework within the Executive S&OP meeting. Utilize a fact-based approach to challenge assumption inconsistencies with Brand and Sales strategy and highlight risks and opportunities. Ensure use and maintenance of the current demand planning systems to create the best statistical forecast using established processes. Guide the Demand Planning function in driving root cause analysis to understand demand plan error in prior periods and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
SUPPLY PLANNING
Lead the planning and directing of materials & supply from Europe and US production facilities to support domestic demand. Align material management, inventory and reporting strategies with key business objectives, driving results to volume and profit plan targets. Establish and manage inventory levels at SKU/DC level within established targets to prevent stock-outs and overstock situations. Partner with Logistics/CS to successfully manage product transitions, both end of life and new product introductions. Analyze and identify process improvements within Supply Chain to support the creation of a robust supply planning function to support continuous improvement in the total Supply Chain. Lead the strategic development and implementation of vendor managed inventory (VMI) program. Maintain disposition and value of inventory that is subject to write-off to obsolescence. Ensure accuracy of Material Master Data.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING
Serve as the Operations representative on senior Cross Functional Team which leads the development and execution of large initiatives such as new product launches. Manage operational timelines for new product launches to ensure that new products reach market at the anticipated deadlines. Support HQ in the implementation of new tools and processes to ensure a smooth integration. Drive overall process standardization, continuous improvement in the new product development, and schedule the operational project deliverables, milestones and critical tasks. Identify key opportunities to drive Supply Chain efficiency improvements and align priorities with the Operations management team.
ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Establish trust and foster collaboration with key senior leaders, functional stakeholders, and team members. Responsible for building and developing a strategy to support a strong local Supply Chain organization that will deliver against current and future business needs. Build and execute effective talent plans to support mid and long-term success of the team, including active leadership and skill development of talent. Enable a high-performing culture by focusing on individual, strengths-based development. Build relationships and internal networks to effectively work with cross functional teams in RBNA and with the HQ Supply Chain team.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, & EDUCATION (IF APPLICABLE) REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field with undergraduate statistical analysis or engineering focus.
10+ years of experience in Supply Chain related roles such as: Production planning, Inventory deployment and Demand Planning.
Demonstrated analytical, conceptual, and planning abilities and experience.
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and demonstrated capacity to distill complicated processes into simple messages.
Experience with leading teams of various levels of experience.
Strong Project Management Skills and ability to manage numerous projects at once, in a fast-paced environment.
Deep knowledge and experience in SAP / MRP.
Self-motivated team member who can drive resolution to issues with strong problem-solving skills.
Lean/Six Sigma qualification (Six Sigma Green Belt or higher) is a plus.
APICS certification a plus.
The base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $210,000 + cash incentives. Actual salary offer may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
