The Technical Writer Internship will support our Cyber Security team in our Technology Division. What is Cyber Security at Wellmark? At Wellmark we take a holistic approach to Cybersecurity. Identify and create risk management strategy and governance tools, structure and process. Protect through Identify and Access Management, training & awareness, data security, information protection processes & procedures. Detect anomalies and events through continuous monitoring and detection processes. Respond with communications, analysis, mitigation and continuous improvement. Recover with planning, communication and improvement.

What projects might I support? Although subject to change, examples of projects you will be contributing to include:

• Provide day to day experiences of collaboration and partnership with various leaders and teams; focus on small scale deliverables, building interpersonal relationships, exposure to cross divisional elements of the Wellmark organization
• Create clear and concise technical documentation, including articles, job aides, appendices, and user guides; ensuring accuracy and clarity in documentation and may assist with layout work to ensure documents are visually accessible and well-organized.
• Work closely with engineers, developers, and subject matter experts to gather and translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation.
• Assist in layout and formatting to create visually organized, easy-to-read documents. Ensure consistency in style, tone, and formatting across all technical documentation.

Qualifications

:

• Current junior or senior pursuing Technical Writing, Communications, English or a related field
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with the business areas 
• Experience developing and modifying communications technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Excellent research skills, ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Effective organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects that meet timelines and objectives.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with others to create new ideas and improve current processes.
• Knowledge of technical documentation standards and best practices.
• A self-starter who can work well independently or as a member of a cross-functional team. Possess a creative mind, design-thinking, an eye for detail, and the skills to look at projects from all angles.
• Portfolio of previous technical writing samples or projects.

Preferred

• Familiar with technical terminology and concepts and have handled technical communications such as product updates, software rollouts, etc.
• Prior Internship or office experience
