Pay Details:

For Travelers/Stipend Candidates (If your permanent address is outside the 50-mile radius from the facility):
Blended Hourly W2 Pay Rate: $61.00
Blended Weekly Gross Pay Rate: $2,440.00
Minimum Hourly W2 Pay Rate: $26.70
Min. W2 Weekly Gross (Taxable): $1,068.00
Weekly Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,372.00

OR

For Traveler 1099 Candidates:
Pay Rate on 1099 to the Candidate: $63.00
Weekly 1099 Traveler Pay Rate: $2,520.00

Position Overview:  

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Pathology Assistant to join our Anatomic Pathology Lab team. This position is responsible for supporting the laboratory staff in the preparation, examination, and documentation of pathological specimens. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, anatomy, and medical terminology, and will play a key role in assisting with both routine and specialized laboratory tasks.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive specimens into the laboratory, ensuring proper patient identification and labeling.
• Enter specimen information into the electronic medical record (EMR), including registration for outpatients.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Label tissue cassettes using block control sheets.
• Assist in the preparation of frozen tissue sections (label, cut, and stain slides).
• Perform gross descriptions of simple and limited pathology specimens as authorized.
• Prepare patients for evisceration for autopsy and assist in post-anatomical diagnosis.
• Be on call for autopsies when necessary.
• Photograph specimens for documentation and conference preparation.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.

Certification Requirements:

• BLS Certification .
• ASCP Certification
