The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking an Intern to join our team! The Member Services Vision + Call Intern will lead and implement special events, develop and support small groups, and organize in-center initiatives at the Morgan Family Y. These three areas support and enhance the member experience and foster growth in spirit, mind, and body. A successful candidate will work directly with full-time staff across many departments. This person will attend staff meetings, will be encouraged to bring new ideas and energy. Key Responsibilities: Work with staff to create, implement, and support various small groups. Facilitate membership engagement to enhance the member experience and fulfillment of the Y mission. Examples: AOA Coffee Hour, Knitting Group, Painting Class, monthly engagement event Organize, plan, and support special events Examples: Healthy Kids Day, Member Appreciation Field Day, Community Campaign, Jack o' Lantern Jubilee Design and create in-center initiatives for display and member interaction. Examples: Giving Tree, Black History Month, Gratitude Tree, Lobby Crafts Market and promote events, groups and initiative. Track share results and analyze success and identify opportunities for improvement. Administration: Support staff and volunteer connectors and facilitators. Collaborate with all departments within the center. Respond to all member and community inquiries in a timely manner regarding projects. Collaborate: Ignite the vision for small groups, special events, and in-center initiatives and integrate within existing programming / departments. Collaborate with the others to ensure adequate resources Collaborate with community-based organizations to bring in opportunities for connection for our members and staff. Supervision: Recruit and oversea support volunteers and participating vendors. Coordinate and organize all staff and volunteers for event or group facilitation. Qualifications: 2 years of post-high school education and/or equivalent knowledge and experience in communication, business, or related field that includes volunteer development, program development, or innovation. Positive attitude, innovative spirit, and previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to work as a team member as well as independently. Demonstrated skills in customer service, community building, organizational skills, communication, computer knowledge, and an openness and ability to learn new things. Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required. * * Wage: $17.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on qualifications
