Position: Pediatric Hospitalist (BE/BC) – Per Diem Newborn Rounding & ER Call Coverage

GVHC is seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Pediatric Hospitalist to provide per diem inpatient coverage for Newborn Rounding and ER Call at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, CA. The position involves shift work managing normal post-partum newborns at a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) hospital. We're looking for candidates who can outline their availability for ongoing coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 24-hour call coverage shifts
  • Manage pediatric hospitalist cases and procedures
  • Serve as the pediatrician of record during a patient’s stay
  • Coordinate with the primary care physician and specialists as needed
  • Supervise and coordinate transfers to the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) when necessary
  • Provide oversight and teaching to residents during Patient-Centered Rounds

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Active and clear California Medical License
  • DEA Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Board Certification within 3 years of employment
  • Completion of an accredited pediatric residency program with Board eligibility or certification
