Job Description

Metrics is seeking a dynamic Product Manager to oversee the development of a gamified financial app and execute the core product vision from end to end. This role requires balancing two key pillars—engaging, interactive gameplay and secure financial operations—while ensuring a seamless user experience for families. The ideal candidate will guide a cross-functional team of designers, engineers, and marketers to deliver features that engage children, reassure parents, and position the platform as a leading family savings solution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Define Product Vision & Roadmap

  • Develop and communicate the product vision and roadmap, integrating fintech capabilities with engaging gamification features.
  • Craft a long-term strategy that merges interactive mechanics with real-world financial management.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align product initiatives with business goals and user needs.
  • Prioritize product backlog items based on user impact, company objectives, and technical feasibility.

2. Gamification & User Engagement

  • Lead the design and iteration of:
  • Mini-games, reward systems, and habit-building mechanics that drive user retention.
  • Parental controls that are intuitive and easy to use.
  • Work with UX/UI designers to ensure a seamless, enjoyable, and age-appropriate experience.
  • Develop and track engagement metrics (e.g., daily active users, task completion rates, savings growth).

3. Fintech Integration & Security

  • Oversee the research and integration of financial institutions, payment gateways, and compliance frameworks (e.g., KYC/AML, COPPA, parental controls).
  • Partner with fintech and banking APIs to optimize features like saving, rewards, and future financial expansions (e.g., ACH transfers, credit card processing).

4. Market & User Research

  • Conduct interviews, surveys, and usability tests to validate features and identify user pain points.
  • Perform competitive analysis and market research to identify trends, best practices, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Continuously translate insights into actionable product improvements that enhance user experience and differentiation in the market.

5. Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with engineering to ensure high-quality, timely feature releases.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams on go-to-market strategies, feature announcements, and user adoption efforts.
  • Keep stakeholders informed on product updates and ensure transparency across teams.
  • Mentor junior product managers or product owners, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.

6. Metrics & KPIs

  • Define, monitor, and report key product metrics (e.g., user adoption, customer acquisition cost, average savings per user, task completion rates, retention).
  • Make data-driven decisions, balancing engagement metrics with financial security and compliance requirements.

7. Compliance & Parental Controls

  • Ensure the product complies with child data protection standards (e.g., COPPA) and necessary financial regulations.
  • Develop robust parental control tools for monitoring and managing children's financial activities.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in fintech, gaming, or consumer-focused applications.
  • Gamification & Engagement: Strong understanding of game mechanics, behavioral incentives, and user retention strategies.
  • Fintech & Compliance: Knowledge of financial regulations, security best practices, and payment processing. Experience with compliance frameworks such as KYC, AML, and COPPA is a plus.
  • Technical Acumen: Ability to work closely with engineering teams, understand technical constraints, and contribute to system architecture discussions. Experience with APIs, data-driven decision-making, and product analytics.
  • User-Centered Approach: Ability to conduct user research, synthesize insights, and translate them into actionable product improvements.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Experience leading cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and driving projects from ideation to launch.
  • Metrics-Driven Mindset: Comfortable working with data to measure success, optimize engagement, and improve product performance.
  • Startup Mentality: High ownership, adaptability, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
