Summary You will serve as a SECURITY OFFICER in Security Office, Executive Support Office of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will provide guidance, assistance, oversight, advisory and problem solving services concerning all aspects of security to the shipyard commander, department heads, and senior supervisors. You will evaluate directives for compliance and develop strategies for implementation. You will prepare instructions, operating policies, procedures, guidelines, etc. concerning assigned security programs. You will monitor compliance with all higher headquarters security directives and requirements. You will develop, administer and maintain the shipyard's Automated Access Control System. You will develop models for analyzing security studies, program operations and their effectiveness. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with security programs including reactor fuel security, physical security, information security, industrial security, operations security, security of Special Nuclear Material, Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program information and Anti-Terrorism. Experience developing specific guidelines such as implementing regulations or methods for higher headquarters directives. Experience in interpreting policies for application aboard a shipyard. Experience developing models for analyzing security studies, program operations and their effectiveness. Experience in oral and written communication including electronic media to prepare and present recommendations and solutions. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
