Sr. Front End Engineer - Consumer Generative AI Startup

Location: Mountain View, CA

The company is in stealth mode and is building a consumer product that involves generative AI.

The company's team is comprised of industry veterans with experience in building and scaling many 0 to 1 successful consumer products. The Founder was previously the VP of Engineering of a $50+ billion public company, and prior to that was an engineering leader for widely used products at Google. Much of the team is from Google, Twitter, Coinbase, and various startups.

The company has raised a large round of seed funding and has about 12 employees and 11 engineers.

The company will pay a salary up to $250k, plus equity which could be very lucrative.

Job Responsibilities:

- Developing and maintaining high-quality, scalable, and efficient front end code using React and Next.js.

- Selecting and refining the technical stack over time for scalability.

- Hardening the codebase to protect from abuse.

- Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to team members.

- Keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve skills and knowledge.

- Collaborating with backend engineers to integrate APIs and other services.

Qualifications:

- Expertise in React and related technologies.

- Enthusiastic about generative AI.

- At least 4 years (the more the better) of professional experience as a front end engineer.

- Passionate about performance, security, and reliability.

- A prolific coder, with a track record of laying a good foundation for others to build upon.

- Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and pivot as needed.

- Positive energy.

Nice to have:

- Startup experience.

- Experience building high traffic consumer facing web apps.

- Understanding of UX design.
